Makes me feel like I was there.
  • Geoff · 9 months ago
Hmm haven't raced there this season, only be doing Port Melbourne (which is like a CrossCountry course). Great video work.

Awesome Wader. O'Mara blocking at 2:08 much? Also who was the demon show pony launching from the front at 5:27 ?? Love it.

Wade - any chance of posting the HRM data that goes with this video?

    Great video.
  • cyclingtips · 9 months ago
Sure thing Dylan. I have my powermeter data if you like. I didn't bring my HRM though. I'll post it underneath later. From memory, I averaged 290 watts.

Suddenly I'm all flushed with motivation. Gold.

Yeah no doubt about it CCCC are quick to respond to their website results and their in press results too - Murphys law I guess, given the week that Skcc got their results in the paper isn't the week my friends where listed - even Tuesdays paper last week had other clubs results that didn't make the deadline for Monday - and the website is such a great portal for people to see and be informed of all club activities - I'm sure people would flock there to see results - hopefully we can see this improve...

What camera are you using Wade?
  • cyclingtips · 9 months ago
Jeremy, I'm using the GoPro. I just put a link to it in the main post. Very cool...

    Great work Wade.

Made the decison not to race crits this season, but found this very motivating, and at a time when I needed it.

Maybe "helmet cam" could make a regular appearance on some of Melboune's better known rides and races.

It's a great way of documenting what we have here in Melb.

Awesome video, got me interested in doing some road racing in 2009
  • Rod · 9 months ago
Mate that was awesome, haven't raced Glenvale but I think I am inspired
  • cyclingtips · 9 months ago
Happy to hear this vid is getting people inspired to race. Next time I'll record a big event and really get you pumped up! Aussie Nationals next year perhaps?
  • Dylan · 9 months ago
Thanks for posting the extra info Wade.

This could add a new dimension to the "Hell Ride" debate. Maybe in the same way that you never know how much crap you eat until you keep a food diary, it may not be apparent how many risks people take until they see themselves on video... On the other hand, maybe the chance of seeing oneself on YouTube running red lights, chopping old guys on MTBs, hopping gutters and being general idiots could be too much incentive to muck up?

Wow what a nice course, I been doing port melbourne too and some times it feels like im competing in next months roubaix lol.
  • Mike Goldie · 9 months ago
Not sure if it would be allowed but it would be great Wade to use this Camera at DISC. This would at least give those non track riders an insite into riding on that beautiful track. I don't mean a race situation but just take your viewers on a ride around.

Consider this when you get your own camera.

    Cheers.

Mike, that's an excellent idea! Would love to do that. I'll chat to you offline and we'll see if we can set it up!

That was so fun! What were the songs you used in the video? I especially liked the first one, and want to add it to my "stuck on the trainer" mix. Thanks!
  • cyclingtips · 9 months ago
    The songs were:
    1. Goldfrapp: Ooh La La
    2. The Presets: My People
    3. Wolfmother: <del datetime="2009-03-18T20:14:33+00:00">Joker and the Thief</del> Woman

Hi Wade, awesome stuff.Been racing this summer and when A grade over take my grade i am just blown away by them.So good .Having you do that race at Glenvale really show's the skill required to race in A grade.Well done to all the guys in A grade you all are an inspiration.Cheers David.

    cyclingtips:

I'm pretty sure the last song you played was 'Woman' by Wolfmother, not 'Joker and The Thief.'

Great video! I hope to see more like this on this site. :)

Awesome vidoe!! It just goes to show how efficient A grade are at racing cleanly within themselves compared to B grade. The pace is on and never really lets up for much of a break, i regret not having the fitness to race A grade this season gone only managed to do a few B grade. Some of the B graders should watch the end to understand how to sprint properly and not cause crashes. Great work Wade.
