Wow, a lot of silly insults here about Shimano or SRAM, without addressing the fact that chains (especially 10spd ones) are under a lot of stress when it comes to the torque a professional athlete can dish out.

I just switched from an Ultegra 9spd drivetrain to a SRAM Red drivetrain. Know what? They're both good. My Ultegra gear has survived six solid seasons and 10,000 miles and is now on my secondary bike. The Red group shifts slightly differently than I'm used to, but is very precise, and so far I'm very impressed. Considering that both Astana and Saxo Bank are racing with it (and they are two of the top-rated Pro Tour teams), I think calling SRAM gear crap is silly. If it was crap, pro riders would rebel against using it in the first place.

Lee, If I am not mistaken I think you broke a chain on your wonderful Campagnolo equipped bike today. Am I wrong?

Lee the brand in question is SRAM?? They replaced their chains after the weekend with the ever reliable Shimano chains...

Naw that wasn't it my friend, it was a Garmin rider and he threw his bike about 3 meters over the left barrier the one I'm talking about, the helo was right above them the whole thing was captured by the TV cameras

Wasn't it last year or the year before that we saw a Garmin rider throwing his DuraAce equipped rig over the barrier in disgust over his broken chain in the final meters....and it was FLAT road!!
