among other things (the fact that there was nobody near him at the Giro) the white jersey instead of the black one is a dead giveaway.

You might not believe this, but you deserve a little more credit than you realize for my Vuelta win. You see I read your "life tips" article the day before I won. After reading your article I felt so calm and so much wiser to what may lay ahead in life, there was no way I was going to be beaten in that breakaway. To add to that, the only thing that was going through my head in the final 100m was your "victory salutes" column, so I'm most pleased that you're happy with my progression.

the middle shot is him winning the GP Pluoy, not the Giro stage. Also mad props to Gerro, and totally agree with the mixed feelings about Ryder, I was praying that Vino would not win

For those of you who don't know, the "Oppy" that Flinty is referring to is the Australian Cyclist of the Year award. I have no doubt that Gerro has earned this honor this year. If he doesn't I'll give him a medal myself!

The Sir Hubert Opperman Trophy has been presented to the Australian Cyclist of the Year since 1958. For the years 1958 to 1995 the Award was under the custodianship of Mr Bill Long, a life member of Cycling Australia, and it was presented for the 'ride of the year' by an Australian Cyclist.

Cycling Australia took custodianship of the Award in 1996 and it is now presented to the best all-round performing cyclist each year who also displays a high level of sportsmanship and is an ambassador for the sport of cycling.

that's correct. I first saw it when I woke up this morning and Gerro plugged the CT blog on his facebook page. Then I saw that he posted the video as well. It's from youtube.

you tube had stage finishes (last 9km) for previous stages with Matt(the Man) Keenan doing the commentary so perhaps he grabbed it from there .....

Agreed. But now that he's with SKY next year I think we'll see him get some freedom and support.

Lots of people were surprised that Gerro didn't go to The SHACK. I'm glad he didn't as he'd probably only be playing a support role for Lance and Levi.

Now lets wait until the World Champs ...

I heard , a little bird told me , that he is aiming for a top 10 place.

He even has a bet going with a very stylish Melb 'looks like a pro' rider that who ever loses the bet pays for a night on the town ....

so lets wait and see, with this type of form there is no reason why SG can't make the top 10 given a good day and if things fall into place correctly (and if he doesn't have to rdie for some other out of form rider).
